《VR辅助智能制造》课程的任务是阐明虚拟现实技术的基本理论、核心技术和在智能制造领域的应用，并进行智能制造VR制作，使学生对虚拟现实技术有全系统深入的认识，提高学生对虚拟现实技术的实际应用技能。第一阶段：VR技术概论及应用，进行VR案例操作；第二阶段：学习三维建模，学习使用三维扫描仪和VR相机等相关设备；第三阶段，VR制作阶段，进行智能制造VR设计，搭建场景、设置场景动画和交互动作等，并进行VR作品展示。
