The objective of the course is to introduce students the basic concept of deep learning and its applications to a number of computer vision problems. The course will focus on the basic deep learning concepts such as convolution, loss functions, etc., semi-supervised and weakly supervised deep learning as well as the applications of deep learning in a number of real-world tasks such as scene text detection and recognition, object detection and recognition within aerial imagery, image synthesis for training more robust and accurate deep network models, etc.
